We follow the CVMA guidelines, which promotes minimal intervention and maximum retention of original materials. A suitable protection system is always advised and can be installed if required.
In 2011, we appointed Mr Chris Chesney ACR to our board of directors. As an ICON accredited conservator, Mr Chesney, brings with him many years of experience in stained glass conservation, training and project management. Mr Chesney oversees all conservation projects and acts as our head advisor. Following the successful collaboration at Marischal College Aberdeen between Rainbow Glass Studio LTD and Mr Chesney’s Northumberland based firm Iona Art Glass future collaborations will be undertaken making this partnership one of the largest private accredited conservation practices in the north.
Finally, we continually strive to achieve the best possible results. Each window brings us more knowledge and continual profession development is ESSENTIAL to improve our skillset.
